BJU enjoys 'Gold Rush Daze'

"Approximately 4,000 students at Bob Jones University pumped their fists during Tuesday's "Gold Rush Daze"-- a sort of "mini spirit week" crunched into one day.

The students were divided into two teams, Red and Blue, and competed in a series of contests on a sun-filled afternoon at the campus' Alumni Stadium. The students take the day off from classes and just let off steam, BJU spokesman Brian Scoles said.

A few students said they'd been waiting for a few years for the Gold Rush, which began in 1976. The school holds the event every four years."
